My wonderful father has just given me an early birthday present, one of the best presents you can receive for your sweet sixteenth birthday, a lacrosse stick. Now what is so cool about this stick is that I bet none of you have ever used it before, most likely never seen it played either, including those of you whose country it is the national sport, Canada. Yes, yes, it is awesome. It is my new goal, along with the other 2 or 3, to broaden my knowledge of it’s art. For those of you who have never heard of it before, it was first started by the North American Indians as a way to settle squabbles without having to fight a war. It is a contact sport, but that is one of the fun attributes of it. Anyways I will leave you all to ponder the use of this mighty stick. Before you make assumptions that I am strange, please go to goggle and type in Lacrosse, you will see how fun it is.
Today me and some friends went to the American Indian Smithsonian It’s new, it just opened at the end of 2004, I was there at the opening ceremony, but there were just to many people there so we couldn’t go inside. But I went today, and it’s pretty neat. It had lots of interesting artifacts, such as clothes, money, jewelry, etc. Also an interesting thing is that most of the people who work there are american indians, though some have less blood then others. Well there was one lady who claimed to be one, but she was a blond, blue eyed, chick. I’m not so sure how that works, but she showed her card that was issued by the United States government, so I guess she was. They had a couple of theaters showing documentarys, and they were free, which is kinda strange in away though smithsonians are supposed to be free.
If you want to check it out you can. here’s the web link.

Last night I watched the movie Miracle, for all those who don’t know anything about it, it’s a Disney Movie about the 1980 Olympic hockey team that beat the Russians to win the gold. It was an alright movie, could have been better, especially if you don’t possess a father who knows everything there is to know about every sport, players name, year played, jersey number, all the teams he played for, you get the point. One thing I noticed is that they made all the american players look like tiny little shrimps, probably to emphasis the “Miracle”.
After watching it it made me realize how much I miss the NHL. I want to see dudes being checked and fist fights on the ice. I want to hear the sound the skates make on the ice, but these are things that I probably won’t see for a while. I blame it on both parties the players Union and the League, their both stupid.
Now if they would only agree and stop this lockout they would cause a “Miracle”. We could actually watch hockey again. My dreams would come true, and thousands of others dreams could come true.
Inclosing I would like to say Duke rocks, so sorry to any Wake fans, but sometimes we can’t help it.
After much thought, I’ve decided to follow the crowd. Everyone I know is blogging, so why shouldn’t I? I was holding back for the sake of not following the norm, but temptation was too great, I couldn’t hold back any longer, so here I am, typing away in my very own blog. This blog will most likely be similar to the rest of them, nonsense ramblings about nothing, but that’s what blogs are supposed to be like. There will be a mixture of writings, present, future, sports, literature and history on here. Hopefully I won’t get hate mail.
On to happy times.
