.com

Super Sam has offered to host my blog and make it a .com. Yay! Thanks Sam and Tammy. Now I have to come up with a design for it. I’m not so into the plain wordpress blogs. I know, wordpress is the rage, but it’s so plain. I was thinking about a huge puddle, brown and ugly of course. Oh I don’t know. Any ideas?

A Story….about a Girl who currently has Dialup

Once upon a time there was a girl, whom we shall call Natasha. Natasha had lived on the East Coast all 16 years of her life minus 9 months which was spent in a strange taco filled location. Because of her prolonged time in one place she decided that she needed to spread her wings and fly. It wasn’t because she had lived in one hill billy town her whole life. No, she had the pleasure of traveling up and down that beloved coast, but she moved because it was her time to go, and the Great God had confirmed it.

In the East she had the pleasure of having DSL. High speed internet that with one click of the button she could be transported to anywhere. Every time she entered that world her heart would be contented, her spirit would fly, and the birds would sing outside.

Her first destination was Dallas. There she would continue to live in peace in harmony with the cyber world, for in that location DSL abounded. Those two months spent there were some of her most cherished memories.

Then she continued to travel. She crossed three different states to get to her end goal. When she landed in California her heart nearly skipped a beat. She was finally in the land where the sun rises, the beaches abound, the ocean glistens, jeeps rove, where music is inspired, and Tabloids get there gossip. She thought that this was her place, her home, her Kingdom. Until…

After two months of being here and she still has stone age DIAL UP!

Her world caved in that day she heard that they were not in reach for DSL. Her heart was unconsolable. Nothing could inspire her, not even a Snickers Bar. She sat in her room and wondered how could this be. Her thoughts consisted of…California…outside San Diego…no DSL…no High Speed Internet…nothing but Dialup…NO!

She continued this way for two weeks, until she heard for the first time the words IDSN. Have you ever heard those words? They sounded like steak to a starving man. But it was not to be. It also could not reach her beloved home. Then she heard the words T1, but the words that followed were not quite as sweet. The words can not be written or spoken…the $ sign is even to hard for her to type.

She is currently down to her last string. There is one more thing to try. One more company who might be able to after all others have failed. Please pray that we can get it. It’s so hard to do anything when you have DIALUP. How 2006 is that? Exactly my point. It’s 1995!

Forboding Feelings

I’ve been thinking about this whole Duke/NC game for the last week….almost continously. The media hypes up things so much that you just have to get involved. Like for instance ESPN was having a four game rerun of Duke/NC’s best games and commentaries by all sorts of players today up till the actual game started at 9. ESPN.com’s front page was all about this game. Yahoo’s front page was all about this game. I was all about this game.

A funny thing happened at around 8 tonight, our girls room electricity went out. Then when it was fixed my computer wouldn’t start…stupid piece of crap. So I wasn’t able to check the score until 5 minutes ago. For the last two days I have had this forboding feeling that Duke would lose. It would just be so fitting for the whole scene(aka year). I dreamed that they lost last night, and sure enough they did. The weird thing is that I’m not mad. I’m just a little sad. But it’s not affecting me like their losses normally do. Like the loss to Florida St. was worse. Just because we always lose to them. Has anyone ever noticed this besides me? Every year we loose to FS! (If I worked for ESPN I would definately write about this point. Why write about the normal rivilaries between Maryland, Duke, and UNC that everyone and their brother knows about? I would write about the weirdly hidden cause of why Duke always looses to Florida State.) Another reason for my insights of doom is Redick hasn’t been playing as well since the night he broke the ACC record. He really needs to forget about that.

So now I’m condoling myself by watching Moulin Rouge with a bunch of swell pals. Maybe I’ll forget about it, but most likely not.

You Are What You Read…and Watch

Ever since I was little I was always told that you would become what you read. Like if you spend your time reading comics like spiderman, you would grow to be a comic dork, or if you read romance novels you would grow to be a priss with an unrealistic since of life, which unfortunately a large population of our great world fall into these two things. (extremely sad, I agree).

Only thing is I’m not sure what kind of person I am. I spend my time reading Dave Barry, Bill Simmons, Tony Kornheiser, Calvin and Hobbes, Boondocks, Garfield, Wizard of ID, and History books on almost any subject, and the GN’s. Of course, these are all second place things…listed in order of importance after GN’s. So what does that make me? I’m stumped.

I just wanted to mention the best comment anyone ever made to me was said to me the other day. A swell person,Claire ,said I was like the female version of Owen Wilson. I mean how cool is that?

An Universal Thing

Itsweird how you can go anywhere in the U.S. and you’ll will still feel like you’re right back in your backyard…err…realisticly your own town. There is always those familiar sights that you just cant get enough of like Wal-Marts, which make or break a town, or Advance Auto Parts, Get in the zone already. But the sight which really gets me kicking is McDonalds. Now most people would go on about how evil and bad their food is, but not me. I take it as a grain of salt, you can either take it or leave it. It’s up to you to decide if you want to spend $5.00 on a hamburger and fries, or spend $5 at a “healthy” restaurant. Me…I don’t care much about either…both is food and if I’m hungry I just want the fastest thing to fill my stomach.

But the thing about McDonald’s that thrills my soul is not the food, or the Arch, nor the stupid smiley clown, it’s the sight that sits outside(or stands) in the parking lot. No, it’s not the cars lined up ranging from Fords to Porshes. It’s those poor Mexicans outside waiting for work. If it was me I would put them in jail for loittering, but I guess McD’s makes enough money off of them so it doesn’t matter. But you can travel anywhere in the states and you would see the same thing. Every morning from 6-11 there will be Mexicans (who generally are illegal) standing outside waiting for a rich white man to come and pick them up for a below normal task so that they can make a few bucks. It’s sad really. Rain or snow, sun or clouds, I’ve seen it all, and universally it’s all grand.

Is it Sanitary?

Kissing facts
By Sarah Marinos, The Age Melbourne

  • The average adult kiss lasts 45 seconds and involves the use of 34 muscles.
  • During a kiss, nine milligrams of water, seven milligrams of fat and a gram of other organic materials can be transferred from mouth to mouth.
  • Less romantically, about 250 types of virus and bacteria are also transferred.
  • In 1926, actor John Barrymore managed to cram in 127 screen kisses in Don Juan.
  • The longest Hollywood kiss was in the 1941 comedy You’re in the Army Now, when a couple smooched for just over three minutes.
  • In January 1993, the Italian government banned kissing while driving. On 9 March 1562, kissing was banned in Naples on penalty of death because it was suspected of causing the plague.

Now girls and boys please consider who you kiss…cuz they better be worth it with those kind of statistics.
