Vote

If you can (as in you are over 18) I implore you to vote. I know the last few elections have left a lot of heads scratching, and thinking what’s the point, including me. However, I know that a little over 50 years ago a lot of people didn’t even have the oppurtunity to vote, and they suffered a lot to get it. So the least I can do is cast my ballot for them, and pray that it will get counted.
So if you can I ask you to do the same.

Phelps Phan

I believe this comersh was made about me 2 years ago…

Now I have att.

Titletown, USA

ESPN is finishing up their search for Titletown, USA. First of off I have no idea how Greenbay, WI got the distinction in the first place. No offense but the Packers don’t seem like a “Title, Title, Title” (sing to the tune of Money, Money, Money) team.

However, since it was there’s first I think there should be some rules in place in the decision for the new city.

1. It can’t be a sole college town, ie. Knoxville or Gainsville.

2. There should be at least two professional teams in the city (because naturally they have to have to out do Green Bay’s title count)

3. It needs to be largely made up of blue collar workers, therefore eliminate New York and LA. (and while I’m at it Boston).

With that in place I nominate Pittsburgh, PA.

It’s not soley a college town though there is UofPitt and other schools.

There is not 2 but 3 professional sports. The Penguins have 2 Stanley Cups, the Steelers have 5 Superbowls Trophies, and the Pirates have 5 World Series Titles, and that’s not counting all of their confernce and divisional titles.

Noone can argue that Pittsburgh doesn’t have the most dedicated fan base, mostly consisting of blue collar, steel and mine workers.

In conclusion Pittsburgh seems the most logical and deserving city to take over the title of Titletown USA.

Oh, to be in Beijing

I would dig a hole all the way to China
Unless of course I was there
then I’d dig my way home – DMB

Right about now I would do just about anything to be in China for the Olympics. But…I would do even more to be in Baltimore for the parade after the Olympics, because you know as well as I know it’s going to be BIG with Micheal Phelps and Katie Hoff pulling off some major stunts.

Today I realized that not only did I miss watching the 04 Olympics because of the Renewal and not being allowed to watch or read anything remotely plausable as sports, but I missed the Baltimore Parade, which was 20 minutes from my home all because of not even being allowed to watch American news. And to shock you more we didn’t even get a morning paper.

I’m kinda bitter about this. Not a simple bitter like “oh, I missed a parade”, but a deep bitter like, “I missed seeing Michael Phelps (in person)take his shirt off and throw it in the crowd!”.

Now with the 08 Olympics 2 weeks away, my ears are extra attuned to the media coverage. Fools me once, fine, fool me twice…uhuh.

And yes, I’m going to be buying ESPN’s latest mag this Friday. But I won’t be too obessive that I’ll be the first one at the store…

at least hopefully not.

Uhuh

I miss the Sports Guy. He needs to finish his new book soon.

I’m debating if I should resubscribe to ESPN the Magazine or not. I want it but I don’t wanna pay for it.

It’s like SYTYCD caught on that there was too many black people left in the final 8 so they kicked 2 off to make it more even.

I have a feeling the asian girl is going to win this year.

Oreo cookies are my new happy food.

Fantasy Football

I woke up this morning with a text from the newest member of my fantasy league whining about how everyone has a roster already except for him and we haven’t done the draft yet.

Crap.

Now I’m Manually (each player from each team) dropping players one at a time. You would think there would be a faster way to do this but…

no.

The most fun part about it, trashing Tim’s team from last year. Evil evil team.

Easiest. Mike and Casey since they only kept Willie Parker.

I’m kinda proud of my division setup. The Primus’ better take note.

Oklahoma City

Where we wonder what what a Thunder mascot will be like.

Stuck on Repeat

This circus is falling down on its knees
The big top is crumbling down
Its raining in Baltimore fifty miles east
Where you should be, no ones around

I need a phone call
I need a raincoat
I need a big love
I need a phone call

These train conversations are passing me by
And I dont have nothing to say
You get what you pay for
But I just had no intention of living this way

—-

But what would you change if you could?

I need a phone call
I need a raincoat

Updates

This weekend I’m heading to Nashville to visit a cousin who is transplanted there from California for a few weeks thanks to a internship. I’m excited because I get to cross another major city off my list of Major Cities/States I’ve Been Too. Too bad it’s such a short trip, only a day and half, but it’s close so I’m sure I’ll do it again.

I’m still waiting to get my hands on my car. It’s taking a while and my fuse of patience is getting shorter by the day.

I found out the other day who my roommate and suitemates are at school. We’ve begun the facebook conversations. Simply put I’m terrified of the whole thing.

Josh McRoberts got traded to the Pacers joining a fellow Dukie, Mike Dunleavy. I’m jazzed. I’m so going to the Grizzlies/Pacers game this year.  Yeah, I’m a loser.

Elton Brand went to Philly, right as I was all excited about the possiblities of the Clippers with the addition of Baron Davis. Thanks for ruining the dream man.

I miss Emmer.
