Its Thanksgiving…I’m home. I’m never home. I’m never without people, even when I sleep I have a roommate in their with me, but now I’m alone…well my aunt and uncle are here too but that doesn’t count. People say only children have it good…this goes to prove them wrong. We spend the holidays alone! No fun laughter, no I can’t believe you did that moments…nope nada. All we have is silence and the sound of the tv (which is something I hardly watch anymore).
It’s not the best Thanksgiving ever, but I’m thankful for the food. So so thankful. Freshmen 15 has become the freshmen -10 for me and it’s unintentional too the food at school can hardly be called food.
Anyhows happy turkey day. May your day be better than mine.
-I just registered for spring courses. Hard to believe that a new semester is almost here. Again I was trapped into 4 and 1 (4 classes MWF and 1 Tues and Thur.). It kinda blows, but it’s better than having 8am classes (though I’m skipping out on a class with my favorite professor, I just can’t make that time). Now my days will begin at 10am and 9:30am. I’m taking math, World Civ. 1500-, English Comp 2, my first english major class, and the next part of Spanish.
-I get insanely hungry at around midnight. The only snack food I have is ramen. I’m sick of ramen.
-2am food runs with friends to stop the hunger is always fun, though money restraints kinda dampen the mood.
-I love sweet potatoes. I love Thanksgiving. I love Piggly Wiggly’s sweet potatoe casserole!
-I love my college’s basketball games. Our gym is about the size of a high school gym. It took some getting used to, but it makes for a more personal enviroment. It’s like really living Hoosiers.
-Those Saints… Actually where the hell was both teams defenses at?
-I actually did pretty well on that last History exam. He grades on a scale of 15 and I got a 12.7, which is two points higher than my last exam. I got a C last time so I’m assuming this is a B. Take that silly problems and distractions!
Last night I asked G. Why does God let bad things happen to good people?
He replied, “Why do nice guys always finish last?”
I got a little annoyed because I was asking a serious question considering the circumstances and I thought that his reply was belittling my question.
After discussing the two it turns out that there really isn’t an answer for either question. He was just trying to make a point, nobody knows.
Sorry it’s late, but I went to an International Thanksgiving Dinner tonight. I get to claim international status now thanks to you! It’s been great having you in my life for almost 20 years (I hope that doesn’t make you feel old, cuz 54 really isn’t old.) I hope this next year is wonderful for you!
Love you!
I was informed today that my blog isn’t as exciting or interesting as it used to be (that would be by Dulcy). And it’s true, I’m just not digging this whole blog thing anymore. Besides, I don’t really have time to update. (as you can tell there’s been uncommon gaps between posts, sometimes closing into a week.)
And it’s not like I’m getting all those encouraging comments anymore either. Back in the day if I posted pictures I would receive atleast 3 comments, now none. However I realize that my life is pretty different than it used to be. I lost the majority of my readers when I moved to Memphis and then starting college dropped a few more, but I’m okay with that. I just don’t know how to cater to the ones I have left though.
Perhaps someday I’ll get back to my old self, and post about the trivial things…Like the time a lady backed into the front of my car at a Wal-mart parking lot (and she lied, and her insuranced still hasn’t gotten back to me), or like this past weekend when I was eating with Jason and Dan and U. Mass’s mens basketball team walked into the tiny little bbq place (and I thought to myself why now? Why not when I’m with my girls?), or like a few weeks ago when me and my dorm mates (not suitemates mind you) had a 90’s pop music appreciation night, or when K. and I took S. to the a local park to jump in leaves, for the first time, because in Oman they don’t have Fall. (It was incredibly fun though I was incredibly sore afterwards. 19 year old bodies are just too old to perform those kinda stunts.) and all the other little stories that happen everyday.
In the mean time, if you still follow this, please bear with me.
And in closing…Matty C. is not the new Tom Brady or John Elway!
I finally got some pictures to post. They aren’t the greatest (camera phone anyone?) but they should satisfy the masses.

At the Memphis vs. CBU game (Memphis student section!!!) with Jen. She’s TINY!!!

Since a picture is worth a thousand words and I don’t feel like writing much more than I already do for school; I shall be posting pictures more frequently.
I forgot to pick my winners in the Pickem league before the game started. I was going to pick the Jets…this is so sad. I needed that win to get my first place spot back.
Darn it.
The Colts beat the Stealers…hell yeah!
That’s all I have to say about that.
(Oh, and as of now I’m tied for the number 1 spot in Phil’s Pickem league. Girl Power!)
Oh Gosh, tomorrow is election day. It will finally be over. I’m so burnt out on it.
I’m going to the University of Memphis exhibition game against my school at the Fedex Forum. The Bucs are going to lose, pretty badly, but hell I’m going to cheer them on anyways!. Hopefully they’ll flash who wins the election on the jumbotron.
Yes We Can!
