First Semester of my Sophomore year. I’m psyched. I hope this year will be better than last. Well…WAY better than last. The first week of school has past and the second is about to start. So far so good. I’m terribly thrilled about any of my classes but hopefully I’ll get more interested as the semester progresses.
I chose to have my classes spaced 2 MWF and 3 TR to give me more time to space out homework. I’m also hoping that it’ll make me like Mondays more, and make Friday’s into a better day. My class schedule looks like this:
Mon, Wed, Friday- Intro to American Government, and Intermediate Spanish.
(So far in Amer. Gov I know most of the material covered already. The professor is ok…as in kinda boring, but bearable. Every now and then he’ll say something interesting.) (Spanish- I had one teacher all last year. He didn’t teach anything and he was a gringo who spoke argentine spanish. I know have a professor who is from Spain and actually teaches. I had to buy a spanish dictionary and a quick study guide. I’m crash coursing myself. It’s a pain)
Tuesday, Thursday- American Romanticism, British Literature, and General Psychology
In American Rom. we are studying the American Romanticism period…Poe, Melville, Hawthorne, Emerson, and Walden. So far we’ve been working on Poe. I like Poe so it’s interesting. However the Professor is tough! We have 2 papers, a midterm, final, and unannounced quizzes. It’s a 300 level class so it should be harder than others…but I don’t think I’m there yet.
British Lit. We’re studying the beginnings of British literature. Right now we’re at Beowulf and we’re working our way up to Shakespeare and beyond. The Professor has a really smooth voice. She specializes and Anglo Saxon lit so she’s really into the whole Beowulf piece. I think I’ll do fine in this class.
General Psych. My Professor is a perve! He’s one of those dirty old men who always make sex jokes. It’s creepy but it keeps us interested in the class cuz we don’t know what he’s going to say next. Supposedly he’s the second best teacher out of the 4 that teach it. I couldn’t fit Bromback, who’s been reported to be the best into my schedule. Oh well…it should be an interesting class.
